Our Customers We have partnered with the following organizations for their praying mantis needs The San Francisco Public Library has ordered praying mantises multiple times from Mantis Universe. They purchased ghosts (Phyllocrania paradoxa) and orchids (Hymenopus coronatus) from us for their interactive habitats at the children's reference desk. Their mantids provided wonderful summer programming for the kids where they could watch feedings and learn more about these exotic praying mantids! In preparation for their large Africa exhibit in 2023, the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens ordered a variety of African praying mantids. Their Assistant Curator of Herpetology chose two African praying mantis species- the Ghost mantis (Phyllocrania paradoxa) and the Cat/Giant African Stick mantid (Heterochaeta orientalis) from Mantis Universe for this exciting exhibit! Yup, you read that right, our praying mantises have been used in a National Geographic production, "A Real Bug's Life" set to premiere on Disney + in 2023. Our mantids will be on the big screen! The National Geographic production team purchased multiple praying mantises from Mantis Universe to star in the upcoming show "A Real Bug's Life" that will air exclusively on Disney +. Set to premiere in 2023, this 10 episode series gives you a glimpse of what life is like here on Earth, from a bug's eye view. Only now, with recent advancements in camera technology, can we meet these extraordinary little characters and see our colossal world through their tiny eyes. The Herpetology Department at The Nashville Zoo purchased a spiny flower (Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii) and ghost (Phyllocrania paradoxa) mantis from Mantis Universe for their arthropod collection. We were honored when the Manager of the Invertebrate and Vertebrate Living Collections at the Natural History Museum purchased the California native praying mantis species, Stagmomantis californica, from Mantis Universe! One of the most recognized natural history instituations in the world has one of our mantids on display!
